Authentic Albarino

Happy Sunday folks! This weekend, we thoroughly enjoyed drinking this beauty from Tesco. This elegant and aromatic white, made from the underrated Albarino grape, is not one to pass over in a hurry. The aromas of apricot and honeysuckle immediately transport you to Galicia, the region in northern Spain famous for this grape. Absolutely perfect with prawns or squid, this wine can equally be enjoyed on its own at a bar or garden party. At less than £8 per bottle (even less when Tesco has a sale), this wine represents great value for money.

The seller says:

The wine has an intense and elegant aroma, with hints of fresh ripe apples, pears, and apricots, as well as nuances of tropical fruit. On the palate it is rich, mellow, rounded and full-bodied, with a rich tropical character and a lingering finish. Made from the Albarino grape in the Rias Baixas region in north-west Spain, this is cool and crisp; delicious with shellfish.
